Sometimes I’m guilty of running to others before running to God. Yes, I wake with a problem and I call my mother, husband, sister, friends, and the list can continue. I’m quick to share my story and seek a solution from everyone else often forgetting that God is my life-line, my number one source, and the solver of all life’s problems.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” (Philippians 4:6)
We are called to have a relationship with Jesus Christ — it’s not just about asking for blessings — it includes giving thanks, sharing our struggles, and asking him for help. Just like in relationships with we have today, without communication, they fall apart. If we don’t communicate with Christ, so too does our relationship with him! So today, before you share that trial or triumph with someone else, share it with Jesus!
“And will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word.” (Acts 6:4)
