Recently, Michelle Obama was quoted, “we are feeling what not having hope feels like.” In a time where so many of us can feel hopeless about the many aspects of life, I want to remind you of the truth we stand firm on knowing that our hope isn’t situational, it doesn’t come from government, power, or people and it isn’t provided by family and friends or that new amazing job. Our hope comes from Christ alone.
I want you to remind you of the hope we can have for this new year. To know that you are loved more than you can feel. To know with great conviction He has a plan greater than any story you could have written. That He has a purpose for your life that goes beyond your years on this earth and that each new day He is preparing you to move closer to the glory He has called you too. May this year you lay down your chains of enslavement to sin, discouragement, and fear. May you rise up on His strength and soar to new heights of His glory!
I don’t know what you’re praying for today, but I do know that regardless of what your hope is, God is either going to provide, protect, or prepare you for something perfect that only He alone could create! If you’re waiting for Mr. right, I pray that with all of God’s define power He would lead you to that man and that you would look back and say, “I knew God’s promises would never fail.” If the Lord has already led you to your husband, then I pray you are boldly committing to pray for him this year.
Let us commit that through 2017 we will be praying with steadfast commitment for the Lord’s men to be filled with the power of the spirit (Micah 3:18), for them to grow in his knowledge and desire for God (Philippians 1:8 and 2 Peter 3:18), for them to stay strong against temptations and satan’s schemes (Ephesians 6:12 and 1 Corinthians 10:13), that they may be covered and protected daily by the blood of Jesus Christ (Genesis 28:15 and psalm 91:11) and for them to grow daily into all the man the Lord desires for him to become (1 Chronicles 22:19).
“The LORD is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous.” (Proverbs 15:29) And because of this, we can walk forward knowing, “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.” (1 John 5:14)
